Welcome!

Hello!  I'm Celena Torres, office manager at Understanding Nutrition.  We're delighted to welcome you as a new patient.

As you arrive, look for the Comerica Bank sign on top of the building, as the address is not visible from the street. Once inside the Comerica Building, take the elevators to the third floor. When you step out of the elevator, turn to your right and then turn left down the hall.  Our office is in Suite 302. 

Please come in when you arrive and have a seat in the waiting area.

Your First Appointment

This first appointment is scheduled for 90 minutes, and the charge will be $225, payable by cash, check, or credit card at the end of your session. 

At that time, you and Jessica will decide if you will continue to work together, and if so, schedule a follow-up appointment. 

Follow-ups are usually scheduled for 45 minutes, and the charge is $135.  I will provide you with a receipt appropriate to submit to your insurance provider if you wish to do so.

Cancellation & Payment Policies

Please make a note of our cancellation and payment policies.

Your appointment is a reservation of the dietitian’s time, whether you choose to use it or not.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, giving us advance notice allows us to fill that time with a patient from the waiting list.

If for any reason you are not able to attend your scheduled appointment, our policy is to charge the full appointment fee.

If you contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment, we will be happy to reschedule you for a time that is more convenient, and there will be no charge.
